This 100% Pure Refined Shea Butter is a completely natural product, it is lightly refined to remove the natual odor that raw shea butter has as well as color to make it a nice white or off white color. There are no solvents or bleaches used at any step of the process of refinement for this butter, and thus no chemical residue present in the butter itself.<\/p>\n

Additional information on how it is refined is, the shea butter is washed of any residue or debris from its rough state, then bleached without chemicals to remove the natural color from the butter. It is then mechanically filtered and deodorized to remove any particles and the naturally occurring shea butter scent. This leaves majority of the fatty acids and lipids from the natural nuts undisturbed in the finished product. It thus performs similarly to an unrefined shea butter, and for some applications, such as creating specifically scented or tinted products, or for those who prefer unscented products, it can work better than unrefined.<\/p>\n

Our Shea Butter comes from the nuts of the Shea Tree (Vitellaria Paradoxa) in Ghana, Africa . The Shea tree has been nicknamed \u201cTree of Life,\u201d for its ability to help with numerous skin, hair, and health conditions. Shea Butter itself is also known as \u201cMother Nature\u2019s Conditioner\u201d for its exceptional moisturizing and softening properties.<\/p>\n

This butter is known to soothe and hydrate mature skin as well as skin that has been damaged by the harsh effects of the elements.<\/p>\n

Refined Shea Butter is naturally refined to make it unscented and white in color. It is a nutrient-rich cosmetic butter packed with vitamins and antioxidants. Its properties also make it effective in evening out skin tone, diminishing blemishes, dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. This is a semi soft butter, it melts upon skin contact so can be applied as it is or mixed with other ingredients to make skin and hair care products. Shea Butter is vegan and safe for all skin types.<\/p>\n
