We are just hours away now from the premiere of The Gayborhood, the six-episode comedy series created by Israel Luna and executive produced by Dallas Voice, and sources tell us that tickets to tonight’s premiere party, happening at Studio Movie Grill, 13933 N. Central Expressway, are sold out.

So if you have your ticket, we look forward to seeing you there tonight. If you missed out on a ticket to the premiere party, never fear: You can see the series on the Dallas Voice YouTube channel starting Friday, June 27. The first episode drops at 6 p.m. this Friday, and new episodes will drop each Friday after throughout the six-episode season.

Speaking of the Dallas Voice YouTube channel, head on over now to see interviews with members of The Gayborhood cast, then stick around to check out our other original content, including our many DVtv segments.

And while we are on the subject of the Gayborhood — the place, not the series — what does that mean to you? When we here at Dallas Voice say “the Gayborhood,” we are referring to a specific geographic location — Oak Lawn — with the Cedar Springs/Throckmorton intersection at its heart.

But is the Gayborhood just a place, a geographic location? How do you define that place? What are its boundaries? Is there more than one gayborhood in DFW.

Or do you see the Gayborhood as something more than mere geography? Is it a community? Is it a feeling?

Maybe it’s a combination of all those things?

Tell us what you think!
